Water System Maintenance Operator

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our water system maintenance team. This position involves hands-on work maintaining and repairing the water distribution system and its equipment.

 

Responsibilities

• Locate and repair water leaks

• Perform routine maintenance and service on water meters

• Assist with excavation and underground utility work

• Operate heavy equipment and other machinery as needed

• Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the water system

• Respond to emergency repairs and service needs

• Participate in an on-call rotation at least once per month

 

Requirements

• Must live within 10 miles of the water system to be eligible for the position

• Must be willing and able to work on call at least once per month

• Ability to perform physical, outdoor work in varying weather conditions

• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate heavy equipment
